Key information for patients about the coronavirus vaccine
The NHS is currently offering the COVID-19 vaccine to people most at risk from coronavirus.
The coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine is safe and effective. It gives you the best protection against coronavirus.
We will let you know when it's your turn to have the vaccine. It's important not to contact the NHS for a vaccination before then. Please wait to be contacted.
Once you have been contacted please see under COVID-19 General Health Advice for information and directions on how to get to the Covid Clinics as these will not always be held at St Albans Medical Centre
The order in which people will be offered the vaccine is based on
advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).
Meanwhile, we must all continue to adhere to stick to the local tier restriction rules and remember, hands, face, space.
WE WILL SOON BE INVITING FURTHER AGE COHORTS (18 AND ABOVE) TO RECEIVE A COVID JAB (WAITING FOR FURTHER NATIONAL GUIDANCE).
IF YOU HAVE GOT A VALID MOBILE NUMBER REGISTERED WITH US WE WILL SEND YOU A LINK, OTHERWISE WE MAY CALL YOU ON YOUR LANDLINE OR SEND YOU A LETTER. ALL PATIENTS RECEIVING A 1ST COVID DOSE FROM US WILL BE REINVITED BY US FOR THEIR 2ND DOSE. WE RUN EFFICIENT COVID CLINICS WITH MINIMUM WAITING TIME, CONVENIENT PARKING AND A FRIENDLY PRACTICE TEAM YOU ALREADY KNOW.

PATIENTS AND STAFF
Please do not delay getting healthcare. If you need urgent medical help and it is not an emergency, contact your GP or NHS111 online or telephone NHS111 first. During the COVID-19 pandemic it is important that A & E is only used by those with serious or life-threatening problems. There are many ways to get the right care at the right time via www.nhs.uk, your Pharmacist and your GP. Your GP offers online, telephone and video consultations. If you are invited in for a face to face appointment, infection control measures are in place to keep patients and staff safe.
