Key information for patients about the coronavirus vaccine
The NHS is currently offering the COVID-19 vaccine to people most at risk from coronavirus.
The coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine is safe and effective. It gives you the best protection against coronavirus.
We will let you know when it's your turn to have the vaccine. It's important not to contact the NHS for a vaccination before then. Please wait to be contacted.
Once you have been contacted please see under COVID-19 General Health Advice for information and directions on how to get to the Covid Clinics as these will not always be held at St Albans Medical Centre
The order in which people will be offered the vaccine is based on
advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).
Meanwhile, we must all continue to adhere to stick to the local tier restriction rules and remember, hands, face, space.
OUR NEXT ASTRAZENECA COVID CLINIC WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY10 MARCH AT ST ALBANS MEDICAL CENTRE. THIS CLINIC IS FOR FIRST DOSE AND FOR PATIENTS AGED 60 AND OVER OR 16-24 WITH AN UNDERLYING HEALTH CONDITION, AND IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
IF YOU COME UNDER THE ABOVE CRITERIA AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN APPOINTMENT THEN PLEASE CONTACT THE SURGERY. IF YOU DO NOT COME UNDER THE ABOVE CATEGORY YOU WILL NEED TO WAIT UNTIL YOU RECEIVE A TEXT FROM THE SURGERY

Please do not delay getting healthcare. If you need urgent medical help and it is not an emergency, contact your GP or NHS111 online or telephone NHS111 first. During the COVID-19 pandemic it is important that A & E is only used by those with serious or life-threatening problems. There are many ways to get the right care at the right time via www.nhs.uk, your Pharmacist and your GP. Your GP offers online, telephone and video consultations. If you are invited in for a face to face appointment, infection control measures are in place to keep patients and staff safe.
